Tomato Clownfish
Amphiprion frenatus
Tomato Clownfish (Amphiprion frenatus) with a rare White Tip Bubble Anemone (Entacmaea quadricolor). Juvenile Tomato Clownfish often start off life with three white vertical stripes, one on the mid-body, one on the caudal peduncle (base of the tail), and the large band behind the eye. As the fish gets older the mid-body and the caudal peduncle stripe disappear. Other closely related species are Cinnamon Clownfish (Amphiprion melanopus) and Red Saddleback Clownfish (Amphiprion ephippium).
