Food for Malawi Cichlid Fry

Dear Aquaworld,

How to take care of the Malawian fry. We have around 14
Malawian cichlids in Aquarium at home and recently our one of the purple colour fish gave birth to 2/3 baby fishes. We don't know what to feed them. Please advise.

Dear Ranjitha,

I am assuming the fish is a species of Mbuna.  You can feed them crushed flake food or baby brine shrimp.  If you are keeping your fish outside, I am sure there are bugs that are laying eggs in the water all the time that provide natural protein for the fry all day long.  Many juvenile fish that are raised outdoors do not need any supplemental feeding as they have plenty of natural food to feed on.
